Policy for Photography at Rawreth
Juniors Table Tennis Club
Introduction
·
This
document is a statement of the principles around Photography and Videography at
the Rawreth Juniors Table Tennis Club.
·
It was
developed during June 2009.
·
This
policy will be reviewed on a 6 monthly basis commencing Dec 09.
The Policy
Photography and the use of Videography in areas where
children are, has been a topic of discussion in the media, due to some people
misusing images taken. Where photography/videography are referred to below, it includes the use of all photographic equipment including
cameras and videos within mobile phones.
Advice has been given from Local Authority about data
protection and at Rawreth Juniors Table Tennis Club, we have decided that:
- The use
of photography/videography within the sessions can be disruptive and will
be used rarely. Permission will
need to be obtained from the coach running the session in advance of the
session. RJTTC reserve the right to
decline any request should they feel it appropriate to do so.
- We will
allow parents/guardians/coaches/professional photographers/videographers
to photograph and video the juniors during their table tennis session
where appropriate.
- Any coach
or professional photographer carrying out photography/videography will
have obtained CRB checking and clearance and will be will be clearly
identified to the Juniors before photography/videography
takes place.
- Should a
parent/guardian wish to photograph/video their junior playing during the
session, every effort will be made by RJTTC to ensure that the junior is photographed/videod in isolation. This parent/guardian will be will be
clearly identified to the Juniors before
photography/videography takes place.
- We will
continue to use photographs/videos to celebrate achievements of our juniors,
such as on newsletters, our club website and were appropriate the press.
- When
using photographs on our website available to the wider population, discretion
will be shown when selecting them. No names will be used. On
parts of our website that can only be accessed by member login, we will
display photos that are available just to our Rawreth Juniors community.
Parents/Guardians do have the right to request that
their junior is not photographed/videod. RJTTC will make every effort to ensure the
junior is still able to participate in the session, however occasionally, it
may mean that they cannot participate whilst the photography/videography is
taking place.
Many thanks,
Andy Nunn
